Permit me to begin by posing a question-how does your city celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest? A glitzy display of beards, Dirndls, beer, beer and more beer? Or a glorified Happy Hour menu, dedicated to das bier? A combination of both, perhaps? Or just an old boy’s booze run?

Call us traditionalists, but we, at Spark Magic Experiences, decided to go the old fashioned way. Throw in a handful of entertainment, top it up with tinsel and a side of beer (naturally).

And we’re quite pleased with the results, if we may say so ourselves! Why not, after all? The excitement was palatable, the atmosphere charged. From noon to sundown, we ensured our guests were entertained with live performances, singing (no comments on that!), dancing, even the odd game or two.

It’s surprising how little we know of Oktoberfest. These are the ones that caught our attention and got us to start rethinking Oktoberfest celebrations in India.

  • It didn’t start as a beer festival
  • And yes, Oktoberfest doesn’t serve beer! Oktoberfestbier does!
  • Music, Dance, Food, Games – the alternative side…
  • Oktoberfest doesn’t start in October
  • It’s a surprisingly kid-friendly zone

Celebrating the Festival and not just the beer!

Clearly, then, Oktoberfest goes beyond ordering beer, singing the Oktoberfest songs (yes, even the raunchy ones) and speaking German. Next up, we’ll even provide a handbook of the naughty and nice German phrases to use. We’re joking but watch this space for more. Prost!

#GiveThePeopleWhatTheyLove

Music and entertainment is, indeed, the answer. For everything else,
there’s beer!

A pop-up flea market, stand –up comedy and music all added to the good cheer.

#FullDayFunForAllOuting

We took the phrase “come one, come all” quite seriously, with plenty to do for customers of all ages.

#MemoriesGoodCheer

There was, indeed, plenty to celebrate, with friends, family and the little ones. So much so, that, in fact, the open mic sessions or the play zone for kids certainly brought out the Shahenshah in some!

#HypeAwareness&Association

Being social is (and will remain) key, which is why we ensured the sponsors benefitted from the independently run social campaign, on-ground venue activation and sampling and footfall. All whilst associating with the first and largest Oktoberfest tag in Bangalore.

#BrandExperiential&Connect

Experiential marketing is our game, so, naturally, we ensured companies got the time, space and attention to deliver theirs!

#CustomerTraffic&Footfall

A good experience ought to last beyond its timeline and this was certainly a textbook case!

We managed to draw participants from the 8,000 residential apartments located around the venue, which, fortuitously, was bang in the middle of Bangalore’s commercial hub.
